From the Field to the World: Innovation and Agro-industrial Technology at GCP Smart Ingredients
Cultivating Bolivia’s finest superfoods is just the first step of our journey. For a grain of chia, quinoa, or amaranth to retain its nutritional properties intact and reach the most demanding markets, a cutting-edge agro-industrial process is required. At GCP Smart Ingredients, we have invested decades in perfecting every stage of our production chain to ensure excellence from origin to final destination.
Our main facilities, strategically located on the Warnes Highway (Km. 26) in Santa Cruz, are the heart of our operation. In this agro-industrial complex, we have the capacity and technology to cover multiple phases of food processing. We do not limit ourselves to simple harvesting; our production lines include conditioning, milling, extraction, extrusion, pressing, fractionation, dosing, and high-precision packaging.
This infrastructure allows us to process a wide range of grains, cereals, and spices, ranging from chia, sesame, and quinoa, to flaxseed, beans, peas, corn, and peanuts. Furthermore, we specialize in the production of highly nutritional flours, such as chia, quinoa, and amaranth, which are in high demand by the global food industry as healthy, gluten-free alternatives.
The main objective of our technology is to guarantee food safety and extreme purity. Take our flagship product, for example: organic chia. Thanks to our advanced cleaning systems, we are able to market this superfood with a minimum purity level of 99.90% and a moisture content not exceeding 8%. These grains are packaged in bulk, in 25 kg bags and 1000 kg big bags, ready for safe export.
Of course, machinery alone is not enough without rigorous control. Our processing is strictly aligned with international regulations. Every batch that passes through our facilities is backed by our ISO 22000 food safety management system, in addition to complying with Kosher and HALAL parameters, as well as organic regulations for the United States (NOP), Europe (EC), and Japan (JAS).
With over 35 years of family experience in the industry, at GCP Smart Ingredients we have demonstrated that rich Bolivian agricultural tradition and global technological innovation can go hand in hand. We will continue to optimize our processes to ensure that every food product leaving our plant maintains the standard of quality and purity that characterizes us worldwide.
